Fran Goldin works as a private orthoptist and also for the NHS and has been for the last 30 years. She works for many consultant Ophthalmologists in her practice in Stanmore as well as Bupa hospital in Harpenden.

Fran deals with many eye problems including the following: Squint, Convergence Weakness, Headaches, Amblyopia (Lazy Eye), Double Vision, Eye Strain, Prisms, Eye Muscle Imbalance and Muscle Palsy.

Orthoptics is the discipline dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of defective eye coordination, binocular vision, and functional amblyopia by non-pharmaceutical and non-surgical methods, e.g., glasses, prisms, exercises.

The goal of an orthoptist is to improve comfort and efficiency of binocular function.
