Fran will examine your child or yourself and take a detailed history including birth history, family history, symptoms and previous treatment. She will ask a lot of questions about your symptoms to see if they are relevant to an orthoptic condition.  She will then assess vision with and without glasses if worn and for near and distance.

Fran works closely with many optometrists and ophthalmologists and will refer you for further tests if necessary. The ophthalmologist will check the fundus (back of eye) and also test for glasses.

The orthoptic examination takes about 30 to 40 minutes and the tests are made fun for young children.
